Director’s Message

Crafting and reinforcing the corporate image of the University of Balamand, whether towards internal or external stakeholders, is the on-going task of the Office of Communication and Public Relations. It is not its exclusive task, however, for every entity, department or individual within the University, being inherently an ambassador for the institution, is entrusted with this task on an everyday basis.

This brand-building task involves the adoption of a wide variety of relevant communication techniques in order to reach key stakeholders effectively. If the operation is to be fully successful, however, the choice of communication tools and the consistency with which they are employed must be recognized as being as important as the nature of the information being communicated. The Office of Communication and Public Relations works within these two parameters, serving both internal and external audiences through the dissemination of important information, the organizing of cultural events, the publicizing of significant faculty, student or local activities, and the maintenance of good relations with the media. In ways such as these, the Office takes on the responsibility for and regularly delivers on a high proportion of the University’s promotional efforts.

In sum, the Office of Communication and Public Relations exists solely for the service of others, whether the President’s Office, the faculties, departments, centers or offices, as they plan and seek to produce the communication material needed to further the University’s overall strategy.
